Live at Lola: Three Belgian Heavywieghts bring their fine tuned sound from down south.
In 2014, the world was introduced to the first babysteps of MANTIS, an instrumental freight train running on melodic yet danceable guitars, thunderous drums and clamoring basslines.
They draw influences that range from the giddiness of ASIWYFA and brutalism of Russian Circles, to the grooves of LCD Soundsystem and the italofunk that the band fervently listens to in their rehearsal basement.
The band released two EPs in 2016 that showcased their inventiveness, intensity and honesty. The music earned them spots at festivals such as Roadburn, Rock Herk and AFF.
In 2018, they released their rst full-length ‘Magnolia’ to general praise. They toured all
over Europe and played supporting shows for Caspian, Rosetta and ASIWYFA.
Live, MANTIS bring their self-proclaimed ‘pogojazz’ to the people, which always results in an explosion of overdriven guitars, singalong riffs and a lot of intense faces. Like, a lot.
Alternative heavy solid rock, with post-grunge/punk and noise-influences.
Young noisy stoner grunge.
Listen to our music and you’ll understand. A lot of energy and the love for music is what makes Monkey Juice.
